Krank Rev Jr. Pro Guitar Amplifier Head
The Krank Rev Jr. Pro Amplifier Head is a guitar head with a gain saturated circuit. The Krank Rev Jr. Pro amp head is loaded to give you that fat hard hitting low end with piecing cutting highs for everything from bluegrass to straight up metal shredding! We prefer the latter of the two.
Basically, if you are looking for the ultimate practice amp we think you found it. Seriously, this amp was not designed to disappoint and for a practice amp we really doubt you'll find anything better. It looks ultra cool and has the sound to match. These things actually sound better than many of the competitions full sized stuff and have way more gain than the other tube practice amps on the market. The best part is that you can have a truly "Kranked" distortion without having to have it all processed, many other tube practice amps leave a lot to be desired on the distortion side of things especially for rock or metal. Oh yeah, don't let the low wattage rating fool you... this amp has plenty of power to rock the bedroom, basement, or small show venue!
Krank Rev Jr. Pro 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet
Designed to match the Krank Rev Jr. Pro Amplifier Head, the Krank Rev Jr. Pro 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet is built from solid poplar wood. This is the same construction as the large 4x12 Krankenstein and Rev cabs. Remember the solid poplar wood is what gives those cabs the low end crunch.
How important is the cab? For example, think about it this way... the Krank Rev Jr. Pro 1x12 Speaker Cabinet is make from solid poplar while the competition uses for lack of a better term plywood that is anywhere from "6-13 ply." Although a thicker or higher "ply" count is better, it would be like playing a guitar made from plywood and we all know that just wouldn't sound nearly as good or have the pure tone as a solid body. So why use plywood cabs? Well pretty much all of us here used to do the same until we heard the difference the solid construction makes, not pretty much everyone here has switched!
Lastly this speaker cabinet can handle up to a 100W head. Yes, it is small but the Krank Rev Jr. 1x12 speaker cabinet is no joke, this thing is the real deal. Just because it is small doesn't mean the sound is.
The Krank Rev Jr. Pro vs. The Krank Rev Jr. What's the Difference?
Although the Krank Rev Jr. Pro and the Krank Rev Jr. have the same tube configuration and power rating, the gain structure is somewhat different.
Basically, on the standard Krank Rev Jr. the high gain comes from half tube in the active effects loop and in the Krank Rev Jr. Pro it comes entirely thru the preamp section. (The active effects in the Krank Rev Jr. Pro can be activated and use for a clean mosfet gain boost.)
Additionally, the Krank Rev Jr. Pro is footswitchable between the "Krank" and "Kleen" channels where the Rev Jr. Standard is not.
Lastly, the Krank Rev Jr. Pro deals with the common complaint that in the Krank Rev Jr. the "Kleen" channel bypassed the EQ. The Krank Rev Jr. Pro has treble and bass controls on the "Kleen" channel .
